i am bored today... I think 3 people total have walked in the Kastle... good lord. Anywho, i am getting excited to play the Blue October show this weekend... Anyone wanna go on a road trip to Des Moines... We have 2 huge hotel rooms and it should be quite a party i supose. My brother played some keyboards for the band for the first time yesterday... He is a natural! Must be in the blood.. ;) But he can't make the show this weekend but i think he is going to play our next show with us which will be with Ludo in august... The backhaus brothers playing together on a stage for the 1st time.... i know u all just can't wait.... Oh wait, i think it will actually offically be the second time cuz he is gunna play a little bit with OBN at our cd release party and that is the day before... So i just lied but didn't mean too...

i remember that i used to have a live journal and i check to see if my account has been deleted. IT hasn't been deleted.... obviously. :) This is good news cuz i see a bunch of friendly faces that I haven't talked to in forever on this thing... Time to find out what everyone has been up too...

as far as thing go with me... some things never change. I must be the youngest 33 year old ever. I don't know if that is a good thing or not but I am enjoying life and still playing music like it was 10 years ago.

Since my last entry Prospect Avenue has broken up... but from the ashes a new band called Malpais has formed and I enjoy it quite a bit... A little bit mellower then most of the things i have done in the past but it is a good change. We played one show opening for Cursive at the Waiting Room... not a bad first show. We haven't played since but have a opening spot at the Blue October show in Des Moines next weekend. I don't like those guys one bit but i am pretty excited for the opportunity to Rock for thousands... or maybe it will be hundreds. Either way it should be pretty kewl... if anyone is interested in checking out what we sound like we just recorded an ep and it is up on this thing they call Myspace.... maybe u have heard of it?

Another thing i am excited about is that Old Boy Network is about to release our 4th cd Aug 18th at the Waiting Room. We are still plugging along after all these years and writing by far the best music we have ever writen. 15 brand new songs... that is by far the most tracks I have ever had on one cd. I hope some people out there give it a chance... its the best sounding cd i have ever been a part of!!

What else? hmmmm book Secret Weapon for your weddings, b-day parts, ect ect... ;) The weapon is still out there having fun every few months. 80s metal pretty much rules.. i don't know if u all knew that or not.

Well anyways, thats whats up with me... i will try to write in this thing more often. I promise...

Since my break up on Saturday morning I have been just trying to take it day by day... I have kept pretty busy, had a show, saw a movie, played some golf, and last night went out to eat with friends....

Then i got a text from Sarah... She was just fowarding a text to me from someone that didn't have my number but my heart sank. All the sudden i wanted to talk to her real bad so i called her. It was so good to talk to her and i asked her if the breakup was still the best thing for us. Deep down i was hope she was gunna say no but i knew it was over.... and now it seems more final and harder to deal with. I actually had a dream that she was with one of my friends and in bed with him last night... Jesus, talk about horrible nightmare... I couldn't go back to sleep at all hence this entry.

Wow , all this just from talking to her... I asked if it would be easier for her if we didn't talk for awhile. She said she wanted to talk and be my friend cuz she still cares about me and wants to hear from me. So apparently , she is more over this situation then i am.. I think it just hit me hard cuz i just realized that she is over me and has made up her mind for sure and there is nothing i can do or say about it.... What a helpless feeling.

Sunday morning and i am awake

I never seem to type in this thing anymore but I can't sleep so what the funk.

Just feeling down about a girl again.. My girlfriend for almost the last year and I broke up yesterday and this one hurts. Not that the other ones didn't, but i thought this one could have potentally gone the distance... Not right now but down the line somewhere... I guess everyone just thinks that something is wrong with them when this kinda stuff happens, its only natural. That is the stage I am in right now... deep down i know or at least hope that it isn't me and that things just wern't meant to work out. Problem was that i just wanted to know that she wanted to be with me and that someday we could have a future together... I mean mr right now is great and all if i was 10 years younger. I feel like i don't have time to just be with someone that is unsure of what they want anymore... But part of me feels like i might have jumped the gun. We had a great relationship and I really loved her alot. I know things work themselves out and i just have to hope for the best...

THe problem is that I really miss her already and want to call her right already... Fuck i hate being here... I was just in this sitation a year and a half ago and i remember how shitty it was for a little while... i so am not looking foward to it. The having to be busy and be doing stupid shit like this to keep your mind off things.

I haven't made a entry since the summer of 2005... Holy Shit!!!

I guess this is my BIG Trumphant Return!!!!! Welcome back me!!!

Few things have happened since last summer... duh

Lets see:
Prospect Avenue finally released its Debut CD, "All Comes Crashing"... u can pick up a copy at homers if u would like to make me happy. Finally gunna start playing some outta town shows starting at the Bottleneck on May 5th.

Old Boy Network- added 2 new members. Scott Evans is on drums and John Friedman is on Keys. Working pre-production on our next cd right now.

Secret Weapon- has been plugging along adding 80s hit after 80s hit.

I have a new girlfriend that i met back in October at a Prospect Ave/ Little Brazil show at the 49er. She is awesome girl.. quite the cutey 4 sure!!!

Well... there ya go... a me update....

I will try to update this thing more that once a year.. I promise

I got jacked in the jaw playing B-ball about a week ago. The result is this grotesque sore in my mouth on the inside of my upper lip. It is so f'in huge and uncomfortable. Its hard to eat, talk, drink, brush my teeth, ect ect. I know i am crying like a baby but I am getting sick of it and want it to go away. Got some medication for it at the doctors today.... hopefully that speed up the process. If u kissed me u may turn into a frog! Serious!

because one of our singers, Benji, is goin on tour for
the whole month of july with his band SOJH.

Thats right..... Secret Weapon makes its long awaited
debut this Sat night at Shea Rileys!!!

Secret Weapon is a 80's Metal/Rock Cover band.
Members are:
Phil Reno- Guitar Screaching and Hair Bleaching
Dave Backhaus- Bass Rapin and Heart Breakin
Dave Collins- Sticks, Tricks, and Lip Stick Fix
Vinny Giambitistta- Guitar Screaching and Hair
Bleaching part 2

As of right now we don't have a lead singer. But don't
fret.... a bunch of good friends that are great
singers in there own right are gunna help us out this
show. It will be singer by committee!!!
Singers include:
Benji- of the Miscasts
Larry- of Lovetap
& Wren of A. Symboint

By our next show we plan on having a full timer on the
Vox(fingers-crossed).

Well i have a few shows 2 tell ya about if u are bored and lonely on a weekend night. First of all lets start with tonight.

all ages show.
We play pretty earily so get the earily if u want to see us.

Sat night @ the bowl.
No Pride Records comp Cd release party.
Featuring -Eyes Catch Fire, Regan Era, Civic Minded, Old Boy Network, More Than Yesterday, and Trippin Default! 10 bones gets u in with a CD!!! Each band recorded 2 new songs for the comp and they sound wonderful.

Next Sat night(May 14th) at the Shea Rileys
The Debut of the 80s metal cover band Secret Weapon.
With friends the Cover Story and Undecided.
The cover story will be playing all 90s covers that night.
Should be a real fun night chalk full of hileriousness that should not be missed by anyone in the world!!!

Well the hessian rock cover band I have started is lacking one major thing right now. A Damn singer!!!! The music is sounding outstanding and is ready to be shared with the world. WE just can't find anyone with the range to sing our selected songs. Kinda sucks considering we are suposed to have a show on May 14th. If we don't find one soon i guess we just have to cancel it which sucks donkey balls mates. So if anyone out there knows of anyone that would be interested and has mega range vocally, tell them to get ahold of me and try out for SECRET WEAPON!

Anthrax is back together. That is fuckin sweet. I wanna see um so bad cuz i never got to see um back in the day even though they were one of my favorite bands. I heard Testament, another old school thrash metal band got back together too. They should go on tour together. That would be, dare i say, amazing!!!!

MY first stage dive ever at a Bang Tango show of all things!!!

This will date me but I used have a blast seeing 311 there when i was in high school. Hey oh!!!

Incubus opened for Old Boy Network there a long ass time ago. Thats pretty funny to think about nowdays.

OBN playing sold out penny pitcher shows with Blue Moon Ghetto used to be super fun. Hot girls everywhere!!! Hup Hup.

Mandown's Shoulder CD party was a great time.

Prospect Avenue's first Omaha show with the A-Team intro was a classic.

.........and finally all the Green Room fun that used to be had. Lots of good memories at the bowl.

One more memory to come. A last minute show this friday night.

I have decided to play in a upcomming cover band. It just for fun and we will be playing alot of old 80s tunes and metal. Its gunna be Vince and I and Dave Collins and Phil Reno. We just need to find a singer with super duper range. We are gunna meet next monday and pick some songs to learn. If anyone has any suggestions let me know...... and yes we will be playing a Crue song or 2.

and I am tired and getting sick but it was so worth it. I need to just sleep for 2 days straight but unfortunately I am back at work. Anywho, the crue was kick ass as expected. Tommy's drum solo was suprisingly weak though. It was a great experience seeing them in MSG. I think Omaha's show might be more fun for me though cuz our seats sucked ass. Other then the Crue, I did the usual tourist shit. Went to Ellis Island, Central Park, Empire State building, power shopped my ass off, it was great. Saw Drumluke's band Bona Roba friday night and they rocked. Got a lot of Ney York attitude. Overall, it was a great time but I am wore out!

Its been a long week

Goin and sitting at the Crossroads all day and then goin to the studio all night amounts to alot of sitting around and I have been doing it every day this week. The good news is that the 2 Old Boy songs are complete and sound splendid. Much better then our last E.P. Also, the P Ave album is comming along nicely. Jay has about 5 songs done vocally. Last night Corey Anderson and Benji laid down some back round vocals on the CD. Also, Benji, Thad, and I laid down a monster gang vocal. ha We set up some time in about 2 weeks to get the cello, piano, and all the other vocals down. Can't wait to get it done.

At the same time Jay will be starting on the vocals on a few songs for the Prospect Avenue upcomming full length at Bassline. Looks like I will be driving back and forth a little bit tomorrow.
